Hi! My name is Sergey and I’m 29. I am a painter. I spend a lot of time in the Yaroslavl Region where I have a shop. I like working here, far from the city’s fuss. On weekends I try to explore the neighbourhood in search for nice landscapes and studying architectural and historical monuments. Yesterday was my weekend and I offer you to join me in my trip.

I don’t like alarm clocks and wake up by myself with the sunrise. I also don’t have breakfast in the morning.
Today I decide to visit two places. Kurba Village with an old church and an old mansion but I’m not sure if there is a road there…

My cellphone and navigation system both try to help me find the way to the village.

The village is located 65 kilometers away from Yaroslavl. So, it’s a long way to go….

The church can be seen from the distance.

It is located next to the bus station.
The village has just one street.

Beautiful crosses of the church.

The ladder was swinging in the wind and it looked dangerous.

I’ve never been to Rome but I thing that its architecture is similar to what you see here.

The church looks rather big for this small village which means that many years ago the village was much bigger.

Fresco remains.

They resemble Italian artists, don’t they?

We can assume how beautiful this church was…

Another ensemble across the river…

There are fanciful houses in the village which remained intact.

Then I headed to Parshino Village which people have a regular country life.

Winter berries.

My next destination is a mansion in Ryutovo Village. They say that Catherine II visited this place a couple of times. But the way there was not easy because it started to snow so I had to leave my car and go by foot in order not to leave my car here for ever.

A church near the mansion.

There is an atmosphere of grief here both in architecture and weather.

But people still live in this village and some of them prepare wood for winter.

It’s just the time to take a photo of myself, all in snow.

Everything is frozen around, just like me.

I’m back in my car, heading to Rybinsk.

I’m in a cafeteria which is near the museum of Rybinsk. Life’s getting better!

Dolma (stuffed rice and lamb vine leaf rolls).

This is a church near the cafe. It has been restored recently.

But I have to go back home to my laptop and canvases…

And the fireplace to warm up and dry out the clothes.

Thank you for sharing the images Sergey! Shame that such beautiful architecture is doomed for slow decay.
Food looks tempting and the landscape!
