Good day, everyone! I’m Larisa and for the most part of my life I’ve been living in England. Seven years ago we left London for Portsmouth, where we now live and work in our pub. By “we” I mean myself, my husband Vova, our son Denis and cat Lola. Unfortunately our true friend dog Darsy passed away.
I invite you to spend Monday, 12th December, 2011 in Portsmouth, Great Britain.

Usually I wake up at 9 am, but today I woke up earlier.

I do my bed

Lola is awake too.

I go to the dining-room to make tea.

So many interesting things are here.

I like everything bright.

All these things have been brought from verious countries with love and they keep good memories.

The X-mas tree is decorated in the way I dreamt about when I was a kid.

Yes, it’s me dancing

It’s December but roses, lilies and the orchid in the bathroom are in bloom.

After washing I stretch a bit, even 10 minutes of training give energy for the whole day.

Well, it’s already 11 am, I’m going downstairs to check if the pub is ready to open.

My little garden. It’s sunny today.

Working space is ready for Christmas.

We open at 1 pm, close at 11-12 pm, today one of the employees will open the pub without us.

Vova came to hurry me up.

We work and live in one place, we try to leave the house as often as possible. Today we’ll go to the sea, to the part of the city where stores and restaurants are abundant.

We decided to drive up to the house where Charles Dickens was born, it’s not far from us. The house is being restored before the anniversary.

In February it will have been 2oo years from the day when he was born.

Here we are

Going to the sea passing the port from where ferries sail to different countries.

Passing the former military arsenal.

I call this guy Peter the First, I should say him hello.

The tower has been recently built, if you go upstairs you’ll see a wonderful view of the sea and the city.

We are not going to visit this restaurant because pizza here is like a sand cake.

And we go by the pub.

In December dogs are also cold.

Cafe that we go by too.

Here’s where we went.

It’s our favourite restaurant, when one leaves he may buy something to take home.

First course – soup, I want to warm up. Vova chooses mackerel paste. Bread is very delicious here, baked right here.

For the second course we both choose the Scottish salmon with mashed potatoes and shrimps.

Vova looks very French.

Bright design of the restaurant.

After dinner I don’t want to go anywhere but it’s cold to just sit.

This year the tree is different but the sweets are the same.

This year Santa looks crazy.

Sale has already begun.

The shop I love and can’t help visiting this time as always.

It has become darker and It started raining. Time to go back.

On the way home we dropped in a fish market. It’s right on the shore so the fish is fresh.

Before sitting into the car I am breathing in fresh sea air.

Home, sweet home.

Waiting for Denis I enjoy my buyings of today.

Why not drink some tea?

I light the X-mas tree and watch the news.

Son is finally home.

Denis is changing and Vova is communicating with friends.

Fruits for supper

Denis and Lola are best friends

I go to the kitchen to cook the supper.

My son doesn’t eat meat, so he decided on the day he turned 16. But fish dishes are still in the ration.

While Denis is having supper I am ironing, what other time can I do it if not on the weekend?

Here I am happy because everything has been ironed.

Time to sleep.

Thanks for being with me this day! Hope to see you again! Good luck!
