Hello everybody! I’m Katya and I live in New York.
This is my first full length day-off in several weeks and I invite you to spend it with me!
15 December, 2011.

The alarm clock rang at 12.15 p.m. but I gathered myself up only by 12.30.

The first thing I do in the morning is turning on my laptop.

Thirty minutes later…

Another thirty minutes I chat with my friends.

I guess, it’s time to get dressed.

This is my breakfast. Meat and shrimp dumplings from a Chinese restaurant.

Checking out the weather forecast for today.

It’s 12 degrees above zero! Isn’t that great? I can put on my short jacket!

I’m at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and it’s getting hotter!
A friend of mine joined me later.

By the way, a regular price for the entrance ticket is 25$ here but when you say a magic phrase, “Donation ticket”, you can pay as much as you want. In my case, it was 2$.

‘The Bridge over the Water-Lily Pond’ by Claude Monet is my favorite picture.

It was followed by a Van Gogh.

Picasso.

These guys look so real that it seems that they can move!

Keep on going.

Enjoying African art.

The 20th century…

I’d take it home if I could.

Two hours later we came to the street and it was getting dark.

We saw a Christmas fair and couldn’t help checking it out.

All kinds of handmade souvenirs.

And jewelry (girls will understand me)!

It’s time to have dinner because it’s 6 p.m.
We’re heading to a mall on the opposite side of the road to find a cafe there.

Everything’s blinking!

We got some fast food and ate it all in a pub…

With a glass of beer.

Why not go to a movie theater?

We chose ‘New Year’s Eve’.

It was a good movie, very kind and romantic. We don’t feel like going home so we decide to take a walk on Times Square and see the New Year Ball. I like it here so much that I think I’d like to celebrate this New Year here but it’s going to be so crowded and cold on New Year! Bad idea.

Overall, I’ve lived in New York for two years and never sat on these famous stairs in the middle of Times Square.

It’s 10.15 p.m. and it’s time to go home because tomorrow I have to wake up early.

Heading to the underground enjoying beautiful Christmas trees.

They decorate even hot dog stalls here!

I have to go back to Brooklyn.

I also have to drop into the 24 hour laundry to take my dress…

But it turned out it’s not ready yet.

I’ve washed my face, changed my clothes and now I can read LiveJournal for a while.

Good night! Thanks for spending this day with me. I have a great mood after that movie and hope that Santa will bring me a nice present at Christmas and want you to have the same!
