My name is Yana, I am 23 years old and I reside in Novosibirsk. I work as a PR expert and my days are usually hectic with many diversities. Today I would like to show you my day; a slice of Siberia, my office, a chocolate factory and my home sweet home.
My day starts with an alarm at 6-45. Since am an “owl”, I am always tempted to press on the later button. Yesterday was a hard day, I went to bed at 2 o’clock in the morning; first of all we had gone to the movies where the new Vytsoskiy movie was being shown after which on our return we learned from Twitter that there were riots in Moscow. So we decided to follow the proceedings live. The whole tweet feed was about the riots which kept me busy till late.
As time goes by, I wake up and turn on the lights. I really want to get back under the tempting warm sheets but I have to get down on to my daily programme. Sometimes I wonder how my husband has the willpower to wake up everyday at 5 in the morning and not be tempted to get back to bed. Honestly, I rarely notice him leave.
I take a quick look at the living room. And as you can see we already have a Christmas tree there. The balls for decoration are not in place yet, because we had gone to IKEA in the weekend and they told us that they were out of stock. Imagine and its still early December. Hopefully, this coming weekend we will find them in another place. I really want the tree decorated because I have been in the New Year mood since November!
We ought to play on XBox with my husband. It has been long since we did it.
Done with the rounds in the house, the lights are on everywhere. I no longer feel sleepy and its time I hit the showers.
Done with the showers. This photo I proudly name it; the “Find the Hungry Cat” photo.
Meet Darya Perseevna. She is the Great Dash V.D. Someone in grey. Joking with her is usually bad. So its time to feed the hungry member of the family.
I also sit at table for breakfast. What looks like raw meat in the bowl is actually grapefruit.
The time is already 0804, however, its unclear on this photo. The time I spend checking my emails and reading feeds from my friends.
Now its time to put on make up and get ready to leave. See that cool red hare? I bought it last week during a trip to Krasnoyarsk. Its stuffed with many tiny balls.
Perhaps, I need not to show you only the cat and the hare. I think I should show you how I do my make up. I am no master in taking photos of myself on the mirror. This is before I got started.
And here is the end result. Sorry for the facial expression. This is actually the tenth shot! I still cannot get good shots of my reflection on the mirror. Most of them come out blurred or come out overlit. But at last I got this one shot!
I then get out to look for my “Cherry”. This time round I parked it a bit far from the usual place. In my neighbourhood, you hardly get a parking spot and not ignoring the fact that I came home late yesterday. So I go to the neighbouring yard and as I turn around I see my home. We moved in last summer after the wedding. I really like it here.
And at last! Here is my Cherry, my girly car. I am very fond of it.
As I drive off, I need to pass by my old working place. The kitchen is still located there, so I have to pick up lunch for my colleagues who have already moved to our new premises at Sun City. There I will pick my main muffin to share with my best friend Katya at Sun City.
And here is Sun City! This is the company I work for. What I do there remains to be my tiny secret. But I will tell you later.
And Katyusha is here too. We sit in the car to warm ourselves.
Taking photos while driving and then while going up to the twelfth floor of our building and at the same time carrying a bag full of muffins proved to be quite hard. So there were no photos taken. Here is a view of the city from the twelfth floor where our office is located.
Since we bring breakfast from home, our colleagues are always happy to see us when we arrive; especially the men. And here is the stir at the kitchen.
This is what everyone has been waiting for.
This is the coridoor at our new workplace. I really like it here. Even though it is not as cosy as our old premises, the space is just more than enough. Our company takes four floors in the building.
This is where I usually do my briefings on Skype. Its warm and also has a fireplace!
And here is the flamp. I have to get in.
This is Ksyusha. She is responsible for the development of the flamp in Novosibirsk. She joined us in September but I feel like I have worked with her all my life.
This is my desk. Such alarm clocks are a must have for every employee. The jam was brought for me from Austria by my girlfriend and for some reason I find it hard for me to eat it. The two puppies hugging each other were a present from our Director, Anna, when she came back from Thailand.
This is how my working day begins. I look at the flamp. We do reviews for a site. People write about companies in their cities, where they either recommend the companies to other people or do not. And to make this interesting we take create good ideas for them; for instance, we take them to various factories and companies and show the people how the companies operate, we agree on master class ideas, and we do tours. This happens quite often. In a month we can have 2-3 such events.
See that banner at the top right corner? Today we are visiting a chocolate factory.
Personally, I do not organize the excursions. Since September, I head flamps in several cities – these are; Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kazan and Yekaterinburg. At times I do assist in Moscow.
We have get-togethers with the Novosibirsk flampers but I quite often travel. Ksenia organizes these parties.
Since there is less time left till the excursion begins, I have to make up a list of the things we will do and the requirements in order to make it on time.
I raise my head to hear some collegues arguing. In this phot Katya complains about a flamp review she fundamentally disagrees with. It is like in war in here!
Am done with the requirements. Time is pressing. Its 1-40!
We get out of Sun City.
We rush to the subway (Metro).
We boarded the bus and went to Berdsk, to the factory. I could not upload photos from the bus since all of them turned out dark. It actually was fun. Everyone got acquainted. We laughed all the way. It was cool. And here is the entrance to the factory.
We got dressed up like Batman. A cloak and a hat for everyone.
Lets go and see how chocolates are made.
That is marzipan candy glaze.
This is what comes out on the other side.
Guess what these are for.
In the spherical pots above, they make such dragee.
And such too.
This is the section for manual operations.
This seems to be a dream profession. The scent here is awesome!
The outcome – Chocolate hearts!
We were also given a chance to try out our skills.
This is what I made.
And one creative flamper made this.
Meanwhile, it is getting closer to six o’clock! We have to go.
In the bus it was dark again, so there were no photos taken. We had fun as usual, telling tales.
In the Metro I travel alone since I have to go back to Sun City. I left my car there.
Such are the stained glass windows at our Metro station. Taking photos is allowed here. So I took this shot.
I arrive at the Marks Station and there is our Sun City.
I need to grab a few things here.
There is dinner waiting at home, but after the chocolate factory, I need something light. So I buy some vegetables for making a salad. Time is running out. I wanted to see a girlfriend but I could not since it was already late. So I head home.
Since it was already dark outside, I did not take any photos. This time round I found a nearby spot to park Cherry. Hooray! Am finally home. My husband is already home. But he did not allow me to take his photo even once! So you just have to believe my words that I do have a husband. So I give my husband the chocolate figures i made at the factory; a ghost and a tree and a deer. He is pleased and says that this is better than the previous time when we painted wooden horse models.
I begin to prepare breakfast for my love. As you remember, waking up at five in the morning for me is unreal. So I do it at night prior to the next day.
The cat looks at me with a disappointed look. Its long since we gave him chicken.
Maybe the chicken is inside here – probably that is what the cat thinks.
Meanwhile, breakfast is ready.
I sit at table for dinner. V.D. as earlier is still disappointed.
In my work email I have 21 new mails! In there are banners and posts for approval, news about the market and competitors, “Hamlet”-like questions and interesting ideas from collegues. Urgent mails take up half of these!
Done with the emails and work. I wish to play at the XBox. I call my husband but he is fast asleep. Such are the weekdays for owls and larks. Normally, we see each other during the weekends.
I quietly close the door for him and head for the bathroom. I do not feel sleepy, and tomorrow I have to wake up early. I will have a lot of workload since on Friday I won’t have to go to work. I will be going to the Academy for Coaching classes.
Goodnight everyone! Thanks a lot for joining me on my first Photo-day!
