I invite you to join me in my journey in America. Two more friends of mine (Polina from Indianapolis and Olga from Michigan) are going with me so it’s going to be fun!

We wake up at 4 a.m.

I live in Chicago and have my own Internet store so first I have to work for a while and mail everything that has been purchased during this night to my customers.

I also have to reply to my customers’ questions like, “Why wouldn’t the oil I bought from you dissolve in water?” It’s got to be the wrong oil!

Getting dressed. Since we are going to the church in the evening, I take my best clothes becauce in American churches you’re supposed to be nicely dressed.

It’s 5 in the morning and we’re heading to Michigan! The more we drive, the more trucks wee see on the road.

In Illinois, casinos and fireworks are prohibited so this is what we see entering Indiana.

We drop by at one of Big Boy restaurants to have breakfast. It is they who made up a double cheeseburger.

Since we woke up 6 hours ago, it can’t be breakfast for us. We decide to have lunch! I ordered fish&chips.

Going to fuel the car.

Damn! We’ve just missed out exit!

We pass by a lot of small towns and can’t help noticing that many houses are abandoned.

We cant’r resist buying some pastries in this ‘Thrift Store Bakery’. It is called so because they sell pastries from yesterday with really good discounts.

A lot of farmers and hunters live in Michigan. All these people used to work for automobile companies which are now closed.
Government tries to rehabilitate the state’s economy by tourism and agriculture.

A cemetery.

What’s wrong with my navigation system?

I see the sign!

This is a pond where they grow fish.

And this one is for swimming.

This is my friend Polina.
These berrries are so good!

People in Michigan are very hospitable.

This is why we came here.
In the deer’s ear there is a licence. No butcher will cut a deer without a licence. It costs from 15 to 20 dollars. All hunters must wear orange hats and often vests during the hunting season.

The deer was killed with this crossbow.

On this tree hunters wait for a deer.

It 2 p.m. and we are in the hunter’s house. I expected to see that.
By the way, it is more honorable to kill a male deer than a female deer because male deers are smarter and they are more difficult to hunt for.

These are our presents for the family.

It is venison.

After the second lunch we’re heading to Bavaria, a town founded by German people.

Since there was snow on the road, we had to change our car for…

This SUV!

According to traditions, each year people have to buy new Christmas decorations.

We are in Frankenmuth.

We had to park our car on the lawn. Yes, it was a bad idea to come here two weeks before Christmas.

It is a huge store selling Christmas decorations.

And dolls.

Every heart knows its own bitterness!

We didn’t buy anything…
It was 6 p.m. and we had to go home.

At home we tried to warm us up near this wood burning stove.

Each killed deer gives less than 25 kg of venison.

Before that, we called on Olga’s shop. She makes wooden lures for her husband who is a fisherman and hunter.

All fishes are of different shapes and sizes.

This frog was given to me as a present.
It 10 o’clock and it’s time to sleep…
Good night!
