One Rainy December Day In St. Petersburg

Hello, everyone! I am Vera, 22. 2,5 months I moved from Kirov to St. Petersburg, found a job there, took a room.
And I never regretted. I live and enjoy each day, good job, new people around, my self-dependence…
I made a decision to photograph one day of mine in a warm rainy St. Petersburg on the eve of New Year.
The day was rich in events and if not a small trouble in the end it could be called wonderful!
So welcome to my day!

Saturday morning doesn’t start early. I have to get a good sleep to compensate it for the whole week. It’s still dark outside and I don’t feel that morning has already come.

Outside.

Oh yeah, now I can see.

I’ll miss my washing procedures, all the more so the bulb has burnt out in the bathroom. So I was taking a shower in romantic semidarkness.
Meanwhile – breakfast. Oatmeal porridge with banana and instant coffee. I have neither a coffee machine nor a coffee pot yet.

Meet my new friend Innokentiy or simply Kesha. Each morning he has a surprise for me – today it’s a tangerine ) Yes – if you want to live like in a fairy tale – create it yourself! Hush! Don’t tell Kesha!

In the mean time…

When I do away with my breakfast I can read news feed.

I have many plans for today ) Make up arsenal!

Choosing an outfit. But honestly I don’t have much to choose from.

My two favourite things I couldn’t leave when moved to St. Petersburg.

Going outside. It’s about 12. It has become a bit lighter but still rather dull.

See to the left, see to the right.

Going to the subway. In this bakery awesome bread is made) The smell around is wonderful!

Almost there. I love trams tenderly, but I don’t need them today.

In the subway

In the subway I meet with my friend and we go to Ligovskiy prospect.

We have come to light…

It seems we’ve lost our way, it’s the wrong yard…

Though we are not disappointed about it cause we notice such beauty there.

Here’s our destination

It’s my first time in “Etagi” (“Floors”), I look around with interst.

I definitely like this place!

Here’s what we have come for ) the meeting of post-crossers and this sign says that.

We take our seats but before starting with postcards we must order something tasty.

Oh yeah, it was delicious! Ginger tea and bilberry pie!

Postcards at last!

And even more ))

It’s me! I have caught this guy and snuggle him. We got along well..

We didn’t notice how time was flying away. Have to leave now. The staircase in the “Etagi” is another fairy-tale!

Meanwhile…

It’s raining outside and we are heading fast to the scrap store where I buy workpieces for New Year postcards) And here’s what I meet on my way.

And one more..

Life of dogs has never been easy…

Wet and uncomfortable

Finally we are at the gallery, it’s light and warm here but too many people and I don’t like it. On the first floor cool Christmas staff is sold…

And not only Christmas one… Nice to stare, but we don’t buy anything..

Beautiful, it creates proper mood, you know…

People are attracted here, but we are to blame ourselves, what did we expect on the Saturday evening in a big mall?

So we leave without buyings

The rain has almost stopped and now it’s pleasant outside. Nevskiy prospect is beautiful!

We have come to “Bummag” shop

Have you guessed why already? Yes! For postcards!

But it’s just a nice place to be at. A lot of cool staff you wanna hold in hands..

What time is it now?

Back at Nevskiy prospect

Back in the subway

Hurrah! It’s what we need!

We go to the final station and last stops – almost in an empty car.

The walk was nice, now we have to visit another friend..

Food at last! After that pie in “Etagi” I had only two candies.

The stomach is happy already, but chocolate fondue with tangerines can make it even happier!

So tired!!! We are just sitting in the kitchen and chatting.
This year winter is not like winter at all! Why not have mulled wine?

Here’s what we’ve got!

And at this moment I spilled the wine on my camera and the cellphone!!! The camera didn’t suffer much, but the sensor display of the cellphone failed to work. I was so upset and went home…

Waiting in the subway. Only two stations are ahead. Time is about 10 pm.

And on the way I realize I have to nothing to eat at home, so I drop in a store.

I could hardly carry all this home…

Putting the cellphone on the heater to dry. By the way it helped! The sensor got working but the buttons – not.

Without the cellphone I am a helpless person – I even have no watch. My neighbour, being so kind, gives me THIS, O Lord!

Putting down some complaints in LiveJournal..

Surfing the internet with a cup of tea with ginger and lemon. Don’t look at the can with jam. I failed to open it that night. The next morning I had to call the neighbour to help me)))

7 minutes past 1 am, I gotta go to bed. Looking ahead I should say I couldn’t fall asleep, I turned on the light and started to sort these photos out. Finally I went to bed almost at 4 am.

This was such a day of mine! Thank you for attention! :)

Currently it appears like Expression Engine is the best blogging platform out there right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you’re using on your blog?
