Hey everyone. I am Anna and I was born in Moscow. My current place of residence is ‘travelling’. I am a diving instructor and invite you to spend this day with me! It’s November 7th, 2011.

It’s 6.50 and it’s so hard to wake up!
Meet my watch, my underwater friend!

Actually, I could have woken up later but since I have to take photos all day long and it’s going to take me some time, I decided to wake up earlier.
In the morning I do some warm-up exercises and take a shower. Fortunately, I don’t have to show you this!

It’s 8 a.m. and I have to get ready and take everything I need, like a towel, my camera, map…
I planned to take some pictures for you while on my way, when suddenly, it began to rain!

This is my elegant purse.

A couple of tools.
It’s 8.35 and it’s still raining.

Now I can go. This is a local store.

I have to drop in at the pharmacy to buy some medicines for the medicine chest from my office.

These are some photographs of the views I enjoy every day.

I never get tired admiring it!

This is my ‘office car’. It’s very convenient to carry all my equipment in it.

At the parking lot.

These stairs lead to my office.

First of all, I start the coffee machine.

Inspecting the medicine chest. I work at the beach and accidents happen all the time.

Cleaning up for a while.

These leave evoke fall in Moscow. And I understand that I want to be there! But I also want it to be sunny and warm….
See the weather? I don’t think today will be a busy day for me. So I’m not going to miss my chance to relax and enjoy some coffee on the patio listening to the waves.

The patio and a beautiful view of the Sea.

It’s November but it’s still 28-30 degrees Celsius above zero and I’m wearing a T-shirt and shorts (although I always take a warm jacket with me).
Since I have some free time, why not take some photos of the beach for you?

It’s time for lunch and I’m going to have some muesli with orange milk drink.
Sometimes I go to cafes but I think dishes they serve there are really overpriced!
It’s 12.50 and I expect a couple of divers to arrive. I will have to instruct them on safety measures, tell them what they may see down there and most important, I will have to instruct them on underwater signs and their meaning. My task will be to watch if everything’s Ok with their air cylinders.

This is Ralph.

Now let me show you my ‘office’.

A snail.

A sea urchin.

Sea lily.

A sea cucumber.

Dogsticks.

An eel.

Another sea cucumber.

This snail drinks blood like a vampire.

Me.

Ralph.

A crab.

An hour later we go back to the beach, wet and happy. Why? See above!
But in Thailand, you can find curious creatures not only unterwater but also on shore, like we found this mantis!

After a break, we go back into the water for another hour.

A lobster.

These are Eric and Ralph.

A sea anemone.

A scorpion fish.

A porcupine fish.

Now I have to wash all the equipment and let it dry .
I do it in this bathtub.

My treasures!

What now? First of all, I have to drink a glass of water to prevent dehydration.
It’s 6 p.m. and it’s time to bring the diving suits into the room. After that I make plans for tomorrow and check if everything is paid for.
I was about to go home, when I saw a couple of my friends who came visit me. In this case, we usually watch something about divers or diving smoking the hookah.

It’s 8 p.m. I’m home and I’m hungry!

I’m very happy when I manage to do several dives!
Tonight I could go out with my friends but they’re busy. Besides, I have to prepare for my three or four day trip (I’m going to live on a boat these days) and pack up everything I might need. Tomorrow I’ll have to wake up early, at 5.10, so it’s better to stay home tonight.
When everything’s packed, I recheck it over again (I make sure if I’ve packed my compass, laptop, lights, batteries, maps and other helpful things).

It’s late and I’m tired. After a shower, I go to bed.
So, this is what one day of life of a diving instructor may be like.
