I the Multitasker!

My Sample Day

One day of your life

I the Multitasker!

Hi everyone! Let’s talk about Moscow.  This is how I spent my day on Thursday, November 3rd. Professionally, I have been a Physics teacher in one remarkable school in Moscow, I have also worked in radio transmission for many years as a radio Dj. But I left. The dream of an alcoholic is strong, but short. I wake up at around nine in the morning, despite the fact that last night’s karaoke event ended in the wee hours of the night. I went to bed at around three in the morning. Am training my body not to sleep during daytime in spite of this.

J. Guberman says that ” It happens that you wake up like a bird…want to live and work… but all this disappears by breakfast”. For me this wish ends even earlier than breakfast. Just as soon as I wake up. Reasons for being sad are few and so are the ones for me to be happy. The reasons for my hapiness are always behind the curtains. So I wake up and open the curtains…

Meet Charles. The youngest Briton. He is almost five months old. Why not smile after seeing this wonderful creation.

There are more reasons to be happy. To be honest there are two more. Sometimes the second one is found here on the window sill, with the first one in its arms. But today for some reason I found him in the kitchen. Meet Marsaille! A strange mix of breeds that might one day end up being a big panther. Within a period of five years, Mars grew up with an unprecedented speed.

Now its time to get acquainted with me.  Am sorry for forcing my smile. Actually, one person is missing in the picture. Its my wife – Irina. At the moment she is at work or rather somewhere on her way there. Like every boy does, I take a shower, brush my teeth, drink a glass of water and brew a cup of coffee to begin the day. They say coffee is harmful to your health.

I then take a seat infront of my computer. Check out my Facebook, Vk and other social accounts. I view new photos, leave some comments, and  ”click on the like button.” Generally, I did a great job. By the way, an observant reader will notice that the coffee cup is on top an envelope from the Pension Fund. We got that several days ago. Oh My! We are getting old! Now let me get into doing what real men do.

Guys, due to our tight and differing schedules, I have taken over the tasks of handling all the household chores and shopping.

Since my wife does not see me do the cleaning, I dust the house without moving any item. Its the easiest way to save time while cleaning.

Incidentally, during this process I always see my two beloved capital cities; London and Paris.

We are travellers. If you came to our apartment, you will get the impression that sometime ago we were someplace. We have been to Portugal, Spain, Ikea…

Amsterdam, Paris, London, Ikea…

Paris, Ikea…

Amsterdam, Ikea…

Amsterdam… by the way, we bought these checked boots from Brussels. They are also some kind of souvenir. And the quality for real turned out to be like that of a souvenir.

At one time Irina almost ruined our family when she started collecting dolls. They are very expensive.

My bike helmet from Lisbon. I usually take rides during summer when we live at our house on the outskirts of the city.

They say the small things someone has can tell more about him than what he talks about himself.

A keen observer can tell a lot…

By the way, this is an echoing from last halloween. I dressed up like Koscheev during the party. I even gave gifts to those who called me on that night by the name of the great actor of the soviet cinema era.

When our apartment got full of souvenirs, we started buying magnets.

The main carrier of most of the magnets is the refrigerator.

Suddenly, iI remember that I had not taken breakfast.

I inadvertently caught someone’s attention.

Lets start with a nod to healthy eating. A mixture of fat-free cottage cheese and yoghurt.

I do not like the mixture but these cats really do. They begin begging.

And the grant is given.

These are the hot sandwiches I love.

Meanwhile, the time in Moscow is…

So what does a slack do if he has no job? He goes to the sport club. As I collect my stuff someone is already playing with my shoes.

Ready to go.

My closet is ever in one state- in a mess. Finding an item in this mess proves to be a task.

Just like that…

Next on plan is gettiing out. From here I will take photos using my Iphone. And I approach the fitness club.

I arrive.

Its comfortable to go to the gym during the day. There is almost no one around I have all the equipment and treadmills to myself.

But on the other hand, there is no one around to talk to. So I turn on my music in the player and take some laps on the treadmill while looking out through the window. This is not Rio – de – Janiero for you.

The beginning.

In the process.

The end. With a slope of 3, I have covered a distance of 2.24 miles and burnt 249 calories!

I came back home at around three.

The cats are happy to see me.

As I was out, they really had a lot of fun.

Had to clear the spills.

As I cleaned up the mess the cats also lent a hand.

I empty the bags since I did some shopping after the fitness club. Mars tries to search for something sweet that might have been left in the depths of the rugsack.

After the gym I ate a banana. I don’t have a nice appetite today so I decide to make a light “Tarator”. I was “hooked” on this simple soup consisting of cucumber, wallnuts, garlic, dill and yorghut. Sometimes I dilute the yoghurt with water.

As I shredded and sliced, Mars found the goodies. Not in the rucksack but on the table. For such behaviour we punish the cats but to no avail. Time to clean the food and get it into the refrigerator.

My tarator is ready. This time round I did not use garlic because am going to meet people later on in the day. I overdid the water.

As I sit at table, Charlie sits in wait. Meanwhile, Mars is in hiding after punishment.

I have to feed the cats so that I can comfortably enjoy my meal.

By Archimede’s principle, after a haevy lunch comes a heavy sleep. They always sleep in each other’s arms.

I must get ready for the meeting. As I prepare the event scenario for approvement, I pour myself a cup of coffee and turn on my computer.

After a couple of hours am done. I have to dress up to fit the occassion.  So I dress up in something decent, vaguely reminiscent of glamour, and am off to town.

Since I do not have a red sports car, I take this red train known as Sputnik. The train goes to the Kursk station and in my case it took a mere 23 minutes.

Actually, rumours about commuter trains are somewhat exaggerated. Our new suburban Sputniks are comfortable and have been modernized. I just hope the air conditioners will be working by neext summer.

Meanwhile I practice my English.

At the Kursk station I have took the Metro. Now I have to go towards that violet light.

Next is underground to the blue light.

This is my friends’ small karaoke bar. It is here that I create and host parties. I also work on the bar’s website and its pages on social sites. Actually am still training and gaining experience in the so called ” restaurant business.”

The lighting of the rooms and separate elements of their designs are dynamic. We can change them at any time since we have many colour options.

Today is Thursday, guests are few but as night falls the place will be full of people.

The sound technician’s working space. Karaoke starts at eight in the evening.

The song catalogue at the moment is not needed.

This is the barman Timothey. He is getting ready for the night.

The business part of the visit begins at the VIP- lounge and is always preceded with dinner. I have an open account at the restaurant so I can eat and drink whatever I want. Meat is my favourite. But I always make modest orders.

Meet Tatyana – the owner of the club. She is a kind lady, as you can see the meeting takes place on a light note.

When economic issues come to table, rather than the creative ones, as you notice the tone changes immediately.

Meanwhile, the clock strikes eight and its time for the party to start. The sound technician –  Anthon is at the deck. At times I listen to the concert till morning. The “karaokers” begin to flock in. They even have their own website and forum  where they discuss the various places where they can meet and have fun.

I am also not a bad singer. So I try my voice out on the mic. The vocalist is a bit late today. I take the heavy task of being a troubadour. Let everyone dance!

Meanwhile, it’s nine in Moscow. Today at the club there are no special programs. But for me and Irina its a special night. So I leave the bar and head for Komsomolskaya station. From there we have to go to this place- The Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya! Its an expensive hotel and we will spend the night there. I think it needs some advertising.

My wife works in a big company that deals with trading hotel services. That is why the hotels  have to hold “introductory excursions” for such representatives. When I arrived at the hotel my wife was already in the excursion that is why I was handed the keys to our room directly.

In the lift on my way to the 15th floor.

For this night and tomorrow morning room 1510 is ours. Welcome.

The hallway… to the left is the toilet. Here the bathroom is separate.

The room itself. Rooms here go for about 15,000 roubles a night!

The shower, sink and bathtub…

You can take some tea or coffee.

A view from the window.

The menu from the inside for those who are interested.

I decide not to shy away, so I take myself on a mini excursion. I read from the internet that Hilton Leningradskiy is on the Guiness Book of World Records for having the world’s tallest bronze garland-lamp. It stands at 15.5 meters providing light to seven floors.

They also have beautiful chandeliers.

This one hangs from the central hall.

This lamp is there too.

The beautiful ceiling.

I actually do not know what to call this. Behind the arc you find the lifts.

Part of the hall.

The rest of the evening we spent at the swimming pool at the wellness center of the hotel.

There is also a jacuzzi.

After that time for soup. As you know that spending the night in a non familiar place rekindles the light of love between couples, even for a single night. Since you have read up to here, I would like to thank you for actually spending my day with us. Goodnight everyone.
