Working At The Marriage Registration Hall

My Sample Day

One day of your life

Working At The Marriage Registration Hall

My name is Lena, I am 25 years old. I live in Kirov and work at the marriage registration hall. I have a boyfriend whose name is Stas. Actually there are three of us living in the apartment: me, my boyfriend and his grandmother Tamara.

It’s November 5 today. It is Saturday and a week-day for many people but not for me. I need to go to work though there won’t be much to do there today.

I get up at 8.25. I like getting up early. When I open my eyes I see the magnetic board with all the important information that looks very nice.

I can see our car from the window.

I go to the bathroom. The apartment belongs to my boyfriend’s grandmother and we live according to her laws.

It is time to make some porridge.

Our grandmother’s window.

Our window.

My boyfriend who is still sleepy.

I go back to the kitchen to put the porridge into the plates. I add some strawberry jam to it.

We are going to eat.

Now it’s 8:53 and it’s time to get ready for leaving home.

A bit of makeup.

My favourite toy.

I am taking pictures of cats in the street.

The amulet makes our road safe.

But it failed to work today as our car refused to go.

I call a taxi and hurry up for work. This is our manager.

Here we make pictures of our weddings. We don’t have much time to make experiments as there are too many couples every day.

My colleagues.

Olya.

That is how she actually looks.

Irina.

Olya is preparing photos for an exhibition.

She is wearing gloves not to leave any fingerprints.

We are discussing what our business cards must look like.

This is me on the left.

It is time to have a snack.

Let’s go to the hall. It is filled with happy people in nice clothes.

Nobody is alike and I like watching them a lot.

A guy with his bride.  We know the majority of photographers who come here.

I like the ceiling lamps here.

‘Don’t take our pictures, please!’

An operator is getting ready for work.

He took some pictures of us.

Another photographer is actively discussing something with his friends.

Too active, to my mind.

Natasha is our florist and a very nice person. She also has very long legs as it is seen in the picture.

We have a short working day on Saturdays.

We are planning to print photographs for the coming exhibition and suddenly see that Modern Talking is going to visit our town. My friend Olya likes the group a lot.

This is our Drama Theater. Do you see the white ball? It is the moon actually.

Another photo of the Theater.

The printing studio is closed.

Olya is examining another poster.

‘Thomas, wait for me in your dressing room!’

I start cooking as soon as I reach home.

I will eat a bit of fish with cheese and dried plums.

Stas will have fish and spaghetti.

Let’s surf the net.

Stas is looking through the site about the healthy way of life.

By the way, I see a girl in bikini there!

I am thinking how to decorate our room.

I am taking a bath.

Nice job.

I am working at the photos that were made some time ago.

I am taking a bath.

The birds have been living here for long.

I am back from the bathroom but the bed is not ready yet.

I asked Stas to make the bed though. ‘Let us kill the men!’

We want to sleep early today.

I am taking the last photo of Stas. I think she changed his clothes because he wanted to look nice.

Our kitten is upset because it is very late and we laughing too loud. So, it’s time to say good night and good buy.

Great work Lena, I really enjoyed your photo journey, it makes me think about doing one myself as well. I’m sure everyone at work would consider it crazy though, still I may do it anyway.

Good luck with your photo exposition :-)
