Shooting A New Year Ball In Moscow

Hello!

I’m Andrey Anastaciadi and I make documentary movies about different events. I spent this December, 18th shooting a movie about a New Year party. Check it out!

This Sunday morning starts at 7.40 with the alarm clock that I hate!

On my i-Phone, you see the logo of a motorcycle club.

I have to hurry up so I skip the parts about brushing my teeth, shower, etc.

I’ve prepared everything I have to take along beforehand.

Everything’s with me: my phone, watch, keys… I think I can go.

Heading to downtown Moscow.

Tsvetnoy Boulevard.

Sunday morning is the only time when you can move around the city without wasting your time in traffic jams.

Approaching a 24/7 coffee house.

Parking my car…

Me.

‘Morning in Cofemania’.

I’m going to order breakfast.

I prefer going to this coffee house because it has the best location for me.

My Americano is being made.

Here it is.

Another check-in

Day is finally breaking.

On the way to ‘Metropol’.

Why did I park my car so far away?

‘Boscoemployees’.

Cameramen from the first shift.

This is going to be our today’s ‘battlefield’.

Our equipment.

A 6 Tbyte laptop. Just in case.

I love this ceiling!

I have to arrange the 11 cameramen who are going to work today.

Vova is not sleeping. That’s the way he’s shooting something.

The lighting control panel.

We have to be creative today!

We have a short break, so I’m going to GUM to have another coffee.

I just need some caffeine…

And sugar.

I came back to work to find Philipp Kirkorov, a famous Russian singer, rehearsing.

It’s 5 p.m. and a new shift of cameramen has arrived.

Giving instructions before the work is on.

Meanwhile, this cameraman is trying to smoke a microphone.

I have to instruct each cameraman personally.

We’re about to begin.

That’s my shooting equipment.

It’s 7 p.m. and the party’s just started.

I move from one cameraman to another to make sure everything’s Ok. Two my assistants are helping me.

It’s 10 p.m. and the concert is in full swing!

I’ve come up to these interview men to find out if everything’s all right.

It’s 11.30 p.m. and it’s time for a dancing contest, the most difficult part for each cameraman.

Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to take photos of the end of my day… So thank you and good bye!
