Our Day In Kyoto, Japan

I am Katya, 26 and this is my October, 23 in Kyoto. A couple of days ago me and my beloved one came from a 2 weeks trip to Japan and still haven’t adapted ourselves to the time zone. For three days we were at the relatives’ of my boyfriend in Kyoto. He’s an American, but his mom is from Japan and thus all his maternal relatives live here, in Japan.

We wake up early on the floor… )) Such a Japanese tradition, but in fact, it’s quite comfortable.

The first thing I see from the window is a beautiful Japanese garden.

Washing, having breakfast (my boyfriend and his cousin Ikuma)

It’s Ken there, my love!

We woke up early to go to the cemetery, the grave of Ken’s granny needed some care. By the way, cemeteries in Japan are very beautiful. Have you seen anywhere ponds with fish on cemeteries? I have!

Then we go to a wonderful temple, buy souvenirs there and come back home.

At home barbecue in honor of grandad’s birthday is waiting for us. He is already 91 and he’s a nice chap!

There was a lot of meat and other tasty food. And in the end – the most delicious cake in the world )))

The doggie’s name is Sakura. She’s very friendly and understands orders in Japanese ))

Time to have a walk

The guests have already left and it means time for study and preparing for sleep has come. I help Ken to learn Russian. He helps me to practice English ))

We studied, studied, studied and fell asleep! The square dinner and early rising finally tired us down.

The day ended somehow unexpectedly… Kyoto is a nice city, and the family of Ken is very hospitable)

Really liked this account. The picture truly describe a very wonderful and caring Japanese relatives. Also like the fact how the pictures describe a young couple helping each other to understand their own cultures – i.e. Russian – Anglo. Saludos
