Happy New Year everyone! My name is Alexander and am a Graphic Designer. I hail from Moscow but work in New York. I would like to show you one of my days that lasted 48 hours. This long day began in the morning of 30th December and ended on the morning of the 1st of January.

The morning begins.

The day promises to be sunny, so be ready to see beautiful pictures from this day.

I spit on the ceiling and get up.

In the living room I find my incomplete luggage. I will get done with it after work.

A little bit of morning facebook-ing.

I’ll peep through the window.

How I look in the New York winter.

A strange American habit of throwing Christmas trees before its New Year.

Coming off the subway at Union Square.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays we have a farmer market here. There sell tasty and fresh produce.

My arch-tidy working place.

Close up.

We have received our advertisement campaign for the next year as well as a box of pears on the centre.

A view from the window overlooking the corner between Broadway and 20th street.

At 1 p.m. I left my working place and went to finish up with my luggage and get ready to go to the airport. I walk past the Gandhi Monument.

A chess point at the subway.

A monument with a horse.

The entrance.

Going home from the subway through the picturesque Northern Brooklyn.

Pay attention to the poetic name of my street. I think it was named after some millionnaire from Odessa who settled here.

I go to the roof to show you the beauty of this city. This view is from roof number 1.

From roof № 2

A view from roof № 3

From roof № 4

By this charming stairway, risking my life, will I bring down my luggage.

But first I have to get myself tidy.

An eternal thought on the way to the airport.

Being escorted by a very famous blogger that I cannot say her name.

A completely different Brooklyn № 1

Another completely different Brooklyn № 2

Another different Brooklyn № 3.

The Metro that Russians here for some reason call it a Train.

Judging from the low-level flights, the airport should be somewhere near.

Air train

A beautiful sunset escorts me.

Before the flight is like before execution.

One, two, some beer for Sasha.

Saying goodbye to the stuff I love as much as I love pelmeni – hamburgers. For your consideration, this is a cafe at the airport. Its called the Greenwich Village Bistro at Terminal 1 on the second floor of the JFK airport.

As always I select the place with the highest comfort due to my long legs. I was asked to register without paying 30 euros for the place since the flight was almost empty. But they do not know the second reason why I chose this place- this is between us. (you will get to know later).

The machinery starts off.

I always love air food. Unless you are a Delta fan.

Thats how my place looks like.

I spread four rags and pillows here.

A sweet nap near the door, with the gentle hum of the A330. Not more beauty did I find on this flight.

Slightly swollen after.

Breakfast

New Year celebration courtesy of Aeroflot.

The good thing is that the ticket price does not change indifferent of the number of places available.

A little more time remaining.

Wow! How beautiful.

Under the wing.

In Moscow.

Meanwhile, in Russia the Christmas trees are still indoors.

My friend Cyril was so worried that I would not make it home for New Year. We have always celebrated it at home since my mom’s birthday is on the 1st of January. That is why I decided to rush. To the New Year remain exactly 6 hours.

Cyril pours us some wine.

On my way home for the important meeting.

A switch that my dad made for me when I was small. Now I can barely reach it.

Music for the New Year.

A fragment of the New Year table already laid out.

Mom happily dances to the beat of the chimes.

Already met the New Year, Cyril is exalted.

All of a sudden, the police.

It became a bit scary.

Going to visit friends. A deserted Moscow without snow.

A girl asked us if this fell off by itself, a good question but so unrealistic.

And we knocked.

And suddenly, it begins to snow.

And we are deadlocked.

Then to the kitchen.

The cat took fancy of my medalion.

Olivier.

I insisted on going to the studio to wish a friend a Happy New Year but first…

This is the beauty of the New Year that I have always dreamt of.

We arrive.

Lena refused to show her face, citing that either I or she will be jealous. I could not convince her.

God knows what.

The studio turned out noisy, only later we realized that the noise came from an angry neighbour.

We decided to go to Jean-Jacques. My classmate Kurya was there but the doors were locked.

We were actually late by 15 minutes.

We took a smoke on the street and there he is wearing a red hood. Next to him is Mitya, also a classmate.

We decided to go to Mayak but Misha hesitated blinded by the imposing snow. So we left.

As we thought, Mayak was also closed.

Even the cafe opposite Mayak was closed too. Despite the fact that on the door it was written that it works 24 hours a day.

And the streets are more and more beautiful.

My lovely Moscow streets.

Then some drinks and smokes.

“I spend nights where I’m loved”

Then the last shot of the day. The time was around 11 a.m.
Happy New Year!
