One Fantastic Day of Santa’s Wife And Her Large Family

Hi to everyone! I’m Marina from Voronezh. I’d like to tell you about December, 26, Monday. In my post I’ll transform into Winter and my husband will be Ded Moroz (Russian Santa). Also you’ll see my kids (I have four of them).

We got up at 7 am tht day and at 7.15 I remembered about my desire to keep that day in photos.

…The day before I was 35 and we had my big birthday party. And in the morning of December, 26 I felt tired, very tired but I had to get up and wake up my husband Sergey (future Ded Moroz), my eldest daughter Alina (Snegurochka in the nearest future), my younger daughter Yana (I should transform her in a pixie in an hour) and my two sons Vova (a cowboy) and Yasha (a robot).

I stood boiling curlers and thinking about the day coming. It’ll be difficult but merry and funny. By 9.30 we should come to the grammar school my younger daughter studying at. At 10 we’ll start our New Year show for first-graders. We’re not actors but decided to make it by ourselves. I’ll be Winter, my husband will be Ded Moroz, my elder daughter will play Snegurochka and my friend whose son is Yana’s classmate will be Baba Yaga (a witch).

It’s morning but it’s still very dark in the street.  Every morning my kids say they don’t want to go to the kindergarten at night)

We live in our own house and the fir-tree you see in the picture above grows in our yard. We planted it as soon as we bought the house and since then every December we decorate it with lights and spangle.

We wake up and dress our sons, no, we dress them and then wake them up) They’re 4,5 and 6 and they’re very handsome. Today my husband will take them to the kindergarten where they’ll have a rehearsal for their tomorrow New Year matinee. So, tomorrow we’ll have another merry day)

I go to Yana’s room. It’s her turn to get up.

between this and then I woke up my elder daughter but she didn’t want to be shot without make up. She’s 16, so, you see… But Yana isn’t afraid of camera and I take some photos and begin the transformation. 20 minutes of work, 20 curlers, some hair spray and my daughter turns into a beautiful pixie.

Now it’s my turn to be transformed.

Mum and her daughter are ready. Feel the difference. I wanna be 7!

My Ded Moroz made coffee for us and now we’re drinking it nervously.

We’re on the way to the grammar school. You won’t see any photos of our car or trip ’cause we have too many bags and it was impossible to shoot. In the pictures above: our show script and my daughters – Snegurochka and the Queen of pixies.

Our school security didn’t want to let us in))) but after looking through our passports he tempered justice with mercy and, tadam, here we’re.

Ded Moroz and Snegurochka are rehearsing.

To begin is the most difficult. We’re very nervous… and my Yana starts. It’s her personal feat to take part in our show, she’s very shy.

They call Ded Moroz but I come out instead of  him and say he’s asleep under snow and I don’t want to wake him up. Some competitions passes and I become nicer. The children shout Ded Moroz again but see BabaYaga instead of him.

Some more competitions and Ded Moroz comes. I can have a short rest.

Alina seems to become an ice statue)

The children give us their letters, we say “Good-bye” and get out of the hall. While they’re having some tea with sweets and cakes we’re taking our costumes. Parents waiting for their children look at us with great interest. I felt like Marilyn Monroe at that moment.

We’re home and I’m happy and very tired. Yana begin to eat sweets without taking off costume.

It’s noon. My husband drinks some tea and goes to bed instead of work. Yana goes to her room and falls asleep.

And I eat something and begin to read greetings.

Yana wants puffs and I turn on my breadmaker. It’s a miracle, I think)

Yana feeds birds

and decides to move. Where does she find forces to do it?! Then some cartoons and some more dancing.

Meanwhile I clean our kitchen

and test my new kitchen machine)

It’s 4 o’clock. We turn on the light and remember our fishes haven’t been fed yet.

Yana is tired finally. And this is our New Year tree. My kids decorated it themselves with toys and spice cakes.

It’s time to pack the soap I made for my son’s teachers. I think they’ll like the presents.

I’m through and should go to the kindergarten to bring my boys home.

Vova and his logopedist and Yasha with girls)

On the way home we see our father cleaning his garage.

My puffs. Mmmm…

The gingerbread house under our New Year tree and costumes I made for my boys.

Yasha – transformer

Vova – sheriff

It’s me in the bathroom after the shower.

My husband is having a rest and my children are looking for something in the Internet. I have to take my notebook from them and stop it.

Our Nyurka.

My husband and I and my husband eating)

We put our sons to sleep, then Alina but Yana is in the Internet, in VKontakte (social network like Facebook).

It’s 9 pm. Our children are sleeping and we can have a rest. Our day will end in some hours but our camera batteries are empty and I have to say you “good-bye”.
