Hello. My name is Yalya, I’m 23. I’m a wife, a mother, a shooter and a Federation of Shooting referee. I was born in Magnitogorsk but moved to Moscow over 6 years ago.
The day I want to show you was frosty, long and difficult. It was Sunday, February 5th, 2011.
That morning started when my 18-month old child woke up and asked for food. The only thing which was unusual about that morning was the fact that I took my camera everywhere I went to take pictures.
Then I heard the alarm clock and saw my child sleeping again. It was cold in the apartment and I didn’t want to get up.
That’s my husband Vadim. He didn’t go to bed that night because he had to prepare for the seminar we were invited and finish his project for Ministry of Defense.
Taking a shower.
I put some face lotion on my face (I have dry skin) and applied my contact lenses.
When I was checking my e-mail…
My husband asked me to iron his referee T-shirt. It’s old and faded. We have to order new ones!
Putting some makeup.
David got up earlier than usual.
We can’t get rid of our old furniture and at the same time we keep buying new one. We have to do something about it because it gets annoying.
The bed’s made.
This is a plan of the day for a baby-sitter which was to come.
Here she is. She’s 21 and she has no kids of her own. I wanted to install surveillance cameras everywhere to watch her every step but I didn’t. She seemed nice.
I had to feed my baby by myself because the nanny failed to do it.
Vadim preparing targets.
It looked like David liked his new baby-sitter.
We were late!
And I know I have to sort out my books.
In the elevator.
In the underground.
Every time I go by metro and see all these colors, I think of buying an orange coat for myself.
I don’t know who Umberto Saba is but I like the idea.
On the way to the shooting club.
“Come on, Vadim! Let’s go!”
We were a bit late.
This is Alexander, a very nice person and a family friend.
These are people who organized the seminar.
A Yarygin PYa, MP-443 Grach.
That’s the dream of any girl! CZ-75 Shadow!
And I was to count that day.
Glueing our targets.
The seminar began with an introductory speech.
Vadim told about the gun.
Mind his finger. There is a rule among shots: I will never touch the trigger until I train my gun on the target.
More shooting rules.
Preparing for exhibition shooting.
About to begin practical activity.
The targets were still not ready.
You can never give enough instructions before shooting!
People had to get used to the guns.
I believe people have to know how to shoot because for me, for example, having a weight of 46 kg, shooting is the only way to save my life during an attack of a criminal…
That day I was referee number two so I had to write down all the results and calculate. Someone called me “that girl with a calculator”.
Participants of the seminar must have imagined themselves to be cool movie characters.
What if you will have to shoot from behind the door?
By the way, girls follow the directions of their instructor more carefully.
After that, it was my turn to shoot.
I took a four-month break so it was not easy for me to shoot and had to remember a lot of things.
Alexander shot after me.
It was 5.30 p.m. and I was tired. It was difficult for me to focus on shooting.
When the seminar was over, we had to pay for the shooting gallery rent, arms and bullets.
We discussed the mistakes we made during the seminar to make it better next time.
I had a headache.
In the street.
This is where Vadim and I got married a year and a half ago.
We tried to warm up in Alexander’s car.
He dropped us off at the metro station.
See that ‘wolf’ on the left?
I was hungry so I had a cheeseburger and Vadim bought a milk shake. We also got a mouth organ for David for standing that long parting with his parents.
Our apartment house.
This is our child! He ran out to meet us!
It took us 2 hours to get home! It’s crazy!
I asked Vadim to give me some pills for my headache.
I thanked the baby-sitter. I guess I will hire her again because I’d love to resume my shooting exercises.
Playing with David.
I felt sick and still had a headache. I’ve been suffering from headache since 5. I don’t know what it is. I need to consult doctor House.
Some people see in this look desire. What I see here is a desire to tear off my head.
The cat came up to treat me. Sometimes it helps.
Me photographing my dinner.
David cleaning up the apartment.
Vadim fell asleep 15 minutes later.
I dozed off too looking at this.
We have to make a renovation. The sooner the better!
40 minutes later, I woke up and asked Vadim to bring David to bed.
And I stayed in bed.
When I woke up having no headache, I realized that I was hungry and made dinner myself .
I also had some pistachio ice cream for a dessert.
It was almost midnight.
They showed Sex and the City on TV.
And I fell asleep.
By the way, yes, my husband is 27 years older than me and we are happy together. If you feel “sorry” for our baby, please send us some money instead of words. Bullets would do too.
