Our Bright Vacation In Mexico

Hello! I’m Olga, I live in Moscow. I have two sons, they are 7 and 4 years old. I’m excited to show you how we spent February 17th, 2012 in Cancun, Mexico. It was not our first trip to this country. Three years ago we went there when they identified a bird flue epidemic in the USA and Mexico but it didn’t stop us from enjoying our vacation!

We woke up early because of the jet lag we all suffered from. It took us almost a week to adjust. The day before the kid dozed off right at the restaurant. We brought him home and didn’t even change his clothes.

The view from our room.

That’s the first and the last time I show you the time. I just forgot taking pictures of clocks and watches.

Since my older son was missing school, he had to study in Mexico. It was a touture for both him and me.

We took our sunblock and went down for breakfast. By the way, the sun here in Mexico is crazy! It looks like you can receive a sunburn in a matter of minutes!

Yes, we eat fruits and vegetables in the morning instead of rolls and buns. Let’s pretend you believe me.

My kids love cornflakes unless I insist on something else.

After breakfast, we went for a walk and took a couple of photos at the beach.

It’s so difficult to wash this sand off your body!

Red flags warn tourists that it’s dangerous to swim because of big waves. Some people still go into the sea. So did we.

Turtles.

We took a swim.

There are a lot of ravens here in Cancun and they are really daring when it comes to the food.

Some photos of the hotel.

Isn’t it beautiful? (I’m not a travel agent!)

I wanted to go to SPA when I planned this trip but I never did.

While the rest were doing water aerobics, we waited for lunch.

Those neverending nachos and guacamole.

We decided to go to an amusement park. It’s called Xcaret.

Heading back to the room.

In the lobby.

We rented a car to get there.

In this park, you can swim in an underground river or with skates (!), learn about Maya Indians and visit different shows.

There were a bunch of iguanas there.

They measure the height of each child to find out how much they will have to charge him for the ticket.

These parrots are not in a cage and they don’t fly away.

We walked around the park for a while.

We liked this show very much. It was really impressive when those guys were dancing and playing their drums.

These souvenirs are nice but we don’t buy souvenirs when we visit another country. I think that it’s photographs which are the best memory of your trip.

A Mexican cemetery didn’t scary us at all.

I always feel sorry for horses performing in a show. They look like they suffer from what their riders do to them.

The sunset.

At 7 p.m. there was some popular show everybody wanted to attend. We joined the crowd too. On the way, we came across a man-owl, a man-leopard, etc. We could take a photo with them but I always feel awkward to ask…

Indians played a game with a ball. With their hips, they had to kick the ballĀ  into a small hole. It is probably very difficult. Some say that many years ago the loser team was killed. They also played a hockey with a burning ball instead of the puck.

Dancing.

My kids were nodding…

But when they heard Mexican music they woke up!

We didn’t have dinner when we returned to the hotel because we ate a lot of popcorn. I had a glass of wine and went to bed.
