Hey!
I’m Nika from Moscow. I want to tell you about my birthday. That day I turned 34. It was March 20th, 2012.
I believe it is best to celebrate your birthday by throwing a small party for your closest friends. You should also be full of energy and relaxed to be able to enjoy your day.
As for me, I’ve been trying to achieve my ideal for many years but every time I fail. My last birthday was not an exception.

I’m not an early riser so I feel sad if you wake me up earlier than midday.

We were not to give any concert on my birthday which was good. But there was to be one the next day and two days later Krasnaya Plesen (“Red mould”) was to go on a tour Tyumen – Yekaterinburg – Izhevsk.
Pavel, the punk rock group’s leader, stayed at my place that day. We were to give an interview to a TV channel in the Moscow Region (at 11.30 a.m.) and fly to Tyumen (at 5 p.m.)
My cat Konstantin was not aware of my plans and thought that the most important thing for me was to give him some food in the morning.

Trashik is my parrot. He feels bad about the fact that I don’t let him play with the cat and eat from the same plate. When the cat leaves the room, I let the bird out.

We had a cake for breakfast. This green cake was designed specially for my birthday by my grandmother who was one of the best cooks in the Soviet Union. It’s with raisins, nuts, cherries, green tea… It’s healthy and has no preservatives and additives.
Next to it there is a pumpkin cake with caramel.

In the bathroom.
My T-shirt says “Vozdukh” which means “air”. It was a music festival we performed at in 2009.

It was snowing so we decided to go to the TV studio by metro to skip traffic jams and we proved right. We arrived in time and had to wait for some other guests and employees of the channel to come (they were stuck in traffic jams).

Pavel.

They made us up. I’m always for experimenting so I liked the idea of orange eye shadows.

I don’t like putting makeup by myself and I’m happy when someone does it for me.

I wear makeup only for special occasions, like concerts or interviews.

Then we headed to the studio.

My makeup artist fixing my face.

There was some heated discussion in the studio but I don’t remember what it was about.

It was very interesting.

Attaching a microphone to Pavel’s jacket.

We tried to figure out what the best way to place the guitar-spade was.

Minutes before broadcasting.

We thought we would intrigue the viewer by placing the guitar like that.

When the interview was over, we took a photo with the host and the producer. Then we headed home. It was snowing so I didn’t photograph anything.

At home, we had to change our clothes and have a bite. I made this salad. It’s with cherry tomatoes and sweet pepper. I used olive oil with spices as a seasoning.

This is chicken with tofu, onion and sweet pepper. I served it with some soy and fish sauce. We also had ginger tea with lemon but I didn’t photograph it.

It was too risky to go to the airport by car so we took a train. I forgot about my birthday completely.

On the train I read some text messages I received that day and remembered what day it was.

Shortly before boarding.

The last shot before boarding.

I read this instruction.
I also learnt this plane belonged to Air France. That’s what the inscription on my seat belt said.

The food they served was ridiculous! Why did they give us so much ketchup and mayonnaise? What was I supposed to eat it with? They’d better not to waste this much food but serve just tea and water.

I was bored so I started to read an article that I’d never find interesting if I wasn’t on the plane. It’s called “Does Cola Cause Cancer?”

The airport in Tyumen is very small.
Those who organized the concert gave me these flowers. So nice of them!

“Krasnaya Plesen”.
Another photo to remember the day by.

We were provided with an apartment. I stayed in the room with books…

And a frog.

There were pies and friuts in the kitchen. The apartment also featured heated floors which I believe to be one of the best inventions of the humanity.

Pavel composes music whenever he’s free.

The guys tried on their new Krasnaya Plesen T-shirts.

Pavel switched to playing the violoncello.

That’s it. I was not ready to celebrate my birthday. I think you have to either devote all your day to this celebration or do something else. Nevertheless, who said I couldn’t celebrate it later?
What are you waiting for? Make photos of your day and send them in!
