One Day On Samui Island, Thailand

Hello! I am Irina. I live in Moscow but currently I’m in Thailand, on Samui island. The day I want to show is December, 31st, 2012.

I hate cold in Moscow. Here I am happy – on the tropic island where I don’t feel cold. I am a freelance photographer and I have such an opportunity to leave Moscow and go to Thailand. I have some photoshoots planned already.
I wake up at about 12 in our cute house. I have an air conditioner there, wardrobe, TV set, fridge, bed… for 300 bucks a month.

This is my breakfast.

Then I come to the pool which is vacant by the way.

In fifteen minutes we take our bike (we rented it for about 100 dollars a month). We can go anywhere we want.

We are here to eat. This cafe is not popular among tourists. So the they remember us from the first visit. Nobody drinks fresh coconuts but us here ))

Then we started riding about the island.

It’s not too sunny, but hot anyway.

We have come to the local place of interest – Big Buddha. I didn’t take any pics of iit. Haven’t you seen Buddha? Of course, you have! They are all almost the same. I was impressed by the park of sculptures nearby! Local artists are insane strange.

We are going back home to celebrate New Year. It starts raining. We sit at home for two hours and don’t know what to do. From food we have only have a package of cookies. It’s not how we wanted to meet New Year.

Through the rain sounds we hear plaintive meowing. It’s a cat with a kitten sitting at our house. We take them to the terrace, put on the towel and feed. The cat is so much exhausted it does not show any emotions at all.

Then we decide to go to the restaurant. Our bike is sinking in the puddles. It’s raining cats and dogs. It even hurts our skin! But we finally get to the Italian restaurant in the middle of Asia.

I like Thailand, its climate and its sea, but more passionately I love Europe. I haven’t found the city where I wanna live yet. It must be Prague or Amsterdam somewhere in tropics. Do you know such a place?

New Year’s tree!

While we are eating it stops raining. We go to search for Christmas spirit. The most suitable place is a local beautiful hotel.

Closer to midnight stars appear in the sky over Samui. Not real stars though, but lanterns and lamps. Fire show has started on the beach. I’ve never seen a brighter show!

Finally we are back in our house. Our day is over.
